Sedums are an attractive range of plants that perform well in most Australian gardens.  ‘Vera Jameson’ is an exceptionally attractive plant with smoky purple foliage and soft ruby mauve flowers in summer.  The plant has fleshy leaves that help it through any dry periods.  It goes dormant in early winter and reshoots in mid spring.

The attractive purple foliage makes a carpet of color in places of part shade to full sun.  ‘Vera Jameson’ prefers a well drained position and is tolerant of most frosts.  It doesn’t need any pruning but an annual feed Osmocote Outdoor Trees and Shrubs slow release in late spring will keep it healthy and a light mulch over winter will give it a good start in spring.  ‘Vera Jameson’ looks good in a rockery or large tub or should be planted around the base of a medium shrub like Penstemon, Correa or Hebe.

Sedum ‘Vera Jameson’ was introduced by Clive Larkman from Larkman Nurseries who first saw it at a specialist perennial nursery in Christchurch called Gardens of Gesthemane.  It will make an excellent addition to your garden.
