S. agnes  is delicate perennial growing to 90cm.  It is tolerant of light frosts and full sun.  Like most Salvias it requires a well drained soil, and annual prune and a feed with Osmocote Outdoor Trees and Shrubs after flowering.  It has ovate, hairy leaves with a blue tinge and serrated margins.

Salvia agnes  is a native to Mexico and makes a good dry garden plant.  S. agnes looks best as a background plant to Lavender and Penstemon or can be clipped and kept as an informal hedge.  Plant with Lavandula ‘Hazel’ or  Lavandula  ‘Somerset Mist’ for complimentary coloring or with Penstemon ‘Maurice Gibbs’ or Penstemon ‘Gladiator’ for a contrasting affect
