Like all Penstemons, ‘Swanlake’ is an attractive  shrub with an upright habit.  It is a good grower that similar to Penstemon  ‘Snowbird’ but instead of pure white the flowers have a soft pink tinge.  They occur inprofusioon during summer and early autumn.  The shrub grows to approximately 80 cm in height and 50cm in width.  Penstemon ‘Swanlake’ prefers a sunny aspect with moist but well drained soil.  It will tolerate moderate frosts.  A medium prune and feed with Osmocote Outdoors Trees & Shrubs after flowering will keep the plant compact and healthy.

Penstemons are a great addition to any garden.  They can be used as a specimen plant, tub plant,  en masse for an eye catching affect or even as a low hedge.  They look good interplanted with other Penstemons;  Snowbird and Hidcote Pink for the softer tones or Russian River and Gladiator for a bright colorful garden.
